The initiative was jointly organised by the VGCL, Bac Ninh Province, the Viet Nam Young Doctors’ Association, and Mega We Care Viet Nam Company, in line with the Politburo’s Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW dated September 9, 2025 on strengthening the protection, care, and improvement of public health.
In his opening remarks, VGCL President Nguyen Anh Tuan stressed that workers’ health lies at the heart of the development process, and that enterprises committed to sustainable growth must prioritise the wellbeing of their workforce.
The VGCL aims to mobilise further resources from enterprises and employers to establish a financial mechanism ensuring that all Vietnamese citizens, including workers, can access free annual health check-ups, he noted.
For his part, Nguyen Hong Thai, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, affirmed that Bac Ninh consistently regards safeguarding workers’ lives and health as both a political responsibility and a prerequisite for sustainable development.
The province pledges to continue treating the care and protection of workers’ health as a regular, long-term political task, he added.
Bac Ninh is the first locality selected by the VGCL to roll out the free health check-up programme nationwide. On its opening day, approximately 3,000 workers underwent general examinations.
At the event, workers were consulted by specialist doctors, receiving general check-ups, detailed examinations, health advice, and early detection of occupational and non-communicable diseases.
Following the launch, check-up activities will continue at workers’ dormitories and accommodation areas, with enterprises coordinating on-site examinations at workplaces. It is estimated that around 10,000 workers in Bac Ninh Province will benefit from check-up and screening services throughout the programme.
Within the framework of the initiative, 110 gift packages were distributed to workers facing hardship, including those undergoing cancer treatment at Bac Ninh Province Cancer Hospital, and disadvantaged workers in Quyet Tien Residential Group, Tien Phong Ward.
