At the working session, representatives of the Presidential Office reported on plans to serve the activities of the President and the Vice President before, during and after the Lunar New Year Festival of the Horse.
Accordingly, the President and the Vice President will visit, present gifts and encourage veteran revolutionary cadres; outstanding policy beneficiaries; armed forces; meet overseas Vietnamese through the “Homeland Spring” programme; launch the tree-planting festival; and carry out other regular domestic and external activities. The Presidential Office is also implementing coordination tasks with agencies, ministries, sectors, and localities to help prepare the best possible conditions for people to enjoy spring and welcome the Lunar New Year Festival of the Horse 2026.
After listening to the report and opinions, the President basically agreed with the presented contents, and emphasised the requirement to thoroughly grasp and firmly adhere to the guidelines and directions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the guidance of relevant directing agencies regarding the organisation of activities on the occasion of the Lunar New Year Festival of the Horse.
The President stressed the need to prepare good conditions for people to celebrate spring and welcome the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) of the Horse 2026 in a safe, healthy, and economical manner, creating a joyful atmosphere and motivation for the entire Party, people, and army to strive for the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress from the first months of 2026.
The President requested that visits, encouragement, and New Year greetings be well organised for veteran revolutionary cadres, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, families with meritorious service to the revolution, policy beneficiary families, intellectuals, artists, writers, reputable persons among ethnic minority communities, exemplary religious dignitaries, armed forces units, and forces on duty during the Tet holiday in border areas, islands, remote and disadvantaged regions, and particularly difficult localities, ensuring that every household and every person can enjoy spring and celebrate Tet.
The President noted that there is not much time from now until Tet, while the workload is very large, requiring the Presidential Office and relevant units to continue carefully reviewing each specific content, ensuring tightness and suitability to practical conditions, but absolutely not going against the directions of Party and State leaders.
Emphasising the profound political and humanitarian significance of activities during Tet, the President affirmed that these are acts of gratitude, demonstrating the Party’s and State’s care for policy beneficiaries, families with meritorious service to the revolution, and people in difficult circumstances; therefore, preparations must be conducted thoroughly, responsibly, in line with guidelines and directed at the right beneficiaries.
Regarding the Homeland Spring Programme, preparations must continue to be carried out carefully, ensuring solemn and thoughtful organisation, demonstrating the Party’s and State’s sincere affection for overseas Vietnamese, contributing to further strengthening the bond between overseas Vietnamese and the homeland.
The President requested that the Presidential Office firmly grasp its assigned functions and tasks, promote proactiveness, and strengthen close coordination with relevant agencies, units, and localities to build plans for organising Tet activities in a scientific and effective manner; ensure that tasks are carried out carefully, with clear assignment of responsibilities, completed on schedule and according to plan; and avoid any omissions during the peak period of the Lunar New Year Festival of the Horse 2026.
