Profound gratitude extended to revolution contributors on occasion of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day

A wide range of meaningful commemorative activities were held on July 24 to mark the 78th anniversary of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27, 1947 – 2025), embodying the Vietnamese moral tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” and expressing deep gratitude for their sacrifices and contributions to the nation’s independence and freedom.

* In Ha Noi, Politburo Member and Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai paid visits and presented gifts to several wounded and fallen soldiers’ families in the capital city.

Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Cong Thi Mui (born in 1925, Phu Thuong Ward), whose two sons — Cong Van Ngoc, who fought in the Hue battlefield and sacrificed in 1973, and Cong Nghia Hoa, who fought in the Cambodian battlefield and sacrificed in 1979 — were both fallen soldiers.

She also visited and presented gifts to wounded soldier Nguyen Hung Phong (born in 1940, with a 41% disability, residing in Ba Dinh Ward); Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Dao Duy Canh (a victim of chemical poisoning, living in Ba Dinh Ward); wounded soldier Nguyen Trung Tien (85% disability, Duong Noi Ward); and wounded soldier Nguyen Duc Sau (65% disability, Ha Dong Ward).

During the visits, she emphasised that the Party, State and people will always remember the dedication and contributions of wounded and fallen soldiers’ families, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and revolution contributors, and strive to enhance the support provided to them so that their families may enjoy increasingly better lives.

* In Lam Dong Province, Vice President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee Ha Thi Nga visited Vietnamese Heroic Mother Luong Thi Con. Mother Con (born in 1939, Binh Thuan Ward) is the wife and mother of fallen soldiers.

Additionally, the delegation from the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee visited four revolution contributors: Do Van Luyen, Nguyen Thanh Chinh, Cao Van Hoi, and Nguyen Van So.

At each stop, Ha Thi Nga warmly inquired after the health of the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers and revolution contributors, encouraging them to remain healthy and continue to uphold the traditions of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, serving as moral examples for future generations.

* Female staff members from the Command Headquarters and Youth Union of the Viet Nam Coast Guard High Command offered incense and flowers in tribute to heroic fallen soldiers in Xuan Phuong Ward, Ha Noi, and visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families and revolution contributors in the area.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the delegates bowed in remembrance of the fallen soldiers — outstanding sons of the nation in general and Xuan Phuong Ward in particular — who bravely fought and laid down their lives for national liberation, unification, socialism, and noble international obligations.

Following the incense offering, the delegation visited and presented gifts to families of wounded soldiers and policy beneficiaries in Xuan Phuong Ward. At each visit, they expressed warm concern for their health and living conditions and extended sincere appreciation for their sacrifices and service.

* Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Party Central Committee Member and Vice President – Secretary General of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, visited and presented gifts at the Nho Quan Centre for the Care of Wounded Soldiers in Nho Quan Commune, Ninh Binh Province.

At the event, Nguyen Thi Thu Ha highlighted that, along with the country’s overall development, caring for and supporting revolution contributors has received increasing attention from the Party, State, and localities. Ninh Binh Province in particular has implemented numerous initiatives and policies to care for these individuals.

Commending the contributions of the centre and the province in providing long-term care and rehabilitation for revolution contributors, she encouraged the provincial Fatherland Front to continue promoting “Payment of Gratitude” activities and enhancing infrastructure to better serve wounded and sick soldiers, and revolution contributors throughout the province.

She called on the centre to further improve medical treatment, rehabilitation services, and policy implementation, turning the facility into a trusted spiritual haven for wounded and sick soldiers, and revolution contributors’ families.

On the occasion, Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and Ninh Binh provincial leaders presented gifts to the centre and handed over 143 gifts to wounded and sick soldiers, and revolution contributors’ relatives currently being cared for at the centre.
