The northern province of Hai Duong held the opening ceremony of the Tranh Temple Festival on March 9.

Tranh Temple is an ancient temple worshiping the river god who governs the river near the Tranh ferry, in Tranh Xuyen residential area, Ninh Giang Town, Ninh Giang District, Hai Duong Province.

In addition to the water procession ceremony, the festival also features many cultural and artistic activities, unique folk games, and the display of OCOP products and typical local craft village products in Ninh Giang District.

Thanks to its sacred reputation, Tranh Temple has become a spiritual relic site that attracts many tourists from all over the world to visit and worship.

The organisation of the Tranh Temple Festival — a national intangible cultural heritage — aims to preserve and promote the value of historical and cultural relics, demonstrate the morality of “When drinking water, remember its source”, and honour the merits of ancestors and characters worshiped at the relic.
