Cua Ong Temple Festival is opened every year on the 3rd and 4th days of the second lunar month and the 3rd and 4th days of the eighth lunar month. The temple is dedicated to Tran Quoc Tang — the third son of Tran Hung Dao and the supreme commander of Viet Nam. He was a hero in the resistance war against Mongol invaders under the Tran Dynasty in the 11th century. The festival commemorates his contributions to defeating enemies and bringing peace to the region.

Pham Van Kinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Pha City and Head of the Festival Organising Committee, said that Cua Ong Temple is one of the historical and cultural relics of the Tran Dynasty, with a long history associated with the legend of Hung Nhuong Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tang.

In 2017, Cua Ong Temple was ranked by the Prime Minister as a special national historical site.

Notably, within this year's Cua Ong Temple opening ceremony, Cam Pha City received the decision and certificate of recognition of Vietnamese Heritage Trees for two banyan trees, nine longan trees, and one camphor tree within the Cua Ong-Cap Tien Temple relic site.
