On July 19, 2024, the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2119/QD-UBND announcing the tours in Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long Bay.

The announcement of these tours not only opens opportunities to explore the majestic landscape in Bai Tu Long Bay but also combines tourism types of spirit ecology, sea resorts, sports, cultural experiences to create unique tourism products, different from Ha Long Bay.

Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the launching of the tours in Bai Tu Long Bay is an important step in the province's sustainable tourism development strategy. At the same time, it will build tours connecting heritages, creating new and attractive experiences for tourists, contributing to promoting the tourism development in the province’s localities such as Cam Pha City, Van Don District, Co To District, and other areas.

Van Don owns more than 600 large and small islands with beautiful natural landscapes, pristine beaches and rich marine ecosystems. In particular, Bai Tu Long National Park, recognised as an ASEAN Heritage Park, preserves many rare animal and plant gene samples, creating a special attraction for ecotourism.

In recent years, Quang Ninh Province has focused on investing in infrastructure, creating conditions for Van Don to develop into a modern sea and island tourism centre. Many important projects have been completed, such as Van Don International Airport, Ao Tien International Port, and Ha Long-Van Don-Mong Cai Expressway, helping to connect and attract tourists to the great potential land.

In 2024, Van Don’s tourism grew strongly with more than 1.8 million arrivals, with total revenue reaching over 2,850 billion VND. The launch of the new tours on Bai Tu Long Bay will contribute to developing Van Don tourism to a new level, aiming to welcome 2 million arrivals in 2025 and 8 million arrivals in 2030.

In the coming time, the province will continue to invest, upgrade infrastructure, diversify tourism products, and expand connections with major domestic and international tourist centres.
