Yes Yes No No (7 dancers, 25’, Vietnam) “Europe meets Asia in Contemporary Dance” is an initiative of EUNIC, the Network of European cultural institutes and embassies in Hanoi, in co-operation with the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNBO) co-ordinated by the Goethe-Institut.

Exhibition “Facing the Climate”

“Facing the Climate” is presented by the Swedish Institute together with the Embassy of Sweden, Manzi, the National Library of Vietnam and ten Swedish and Vietnamese cartoonists. The exhibition was developed by the Swedish Institute in collaboration with a number of Swedish cartoonists.

Five Vietnamese and five Swedish cartoonists take a sharp and alarming look at the climate issue.

Exhibition “Face”

Following the Mid-autumn festival program “Create Authentic Vietnamese Masks”, the exhibition “Face” will be held on 19 Sep with the participation of 7 artists hosting fascinating activities, including artist Duc Pham painting faces for the models, mask painting for kids.

Mask painting fee: VND 100,000/ticket. The profit will be used to buy materials and build schools and a library in Suoi Bau primary school, Phu Yen, Son La province.

Vietnam – US collaboration contemporary dance program

Ben Thanh Theater

6 Mac Dinh Chi Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1

The programme will feature the work of two artists-choreographers: Le Vu Long with “A GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS” and Robin Becker with “Into Sunlight”, both express the response of individuals and society to the Vietnam War and its aftermath.

The project itself is a bridge linking cultural exchanges between the people in America and Vietnam. Beyond that, it is also an unique way of nonverbal communication, using the motions of body languages to express the sophisticated emotions in contemporary dance.

Exhibition “A Fictional Journey” by artist – architect Trong Le

Trong Le will be exhibiting a series of original art works, providing viewers with the chance to study the fine detail that goes into each remarkable piece.

In his works, swirling lines are elaborated using an art-nouveau style depicting recognisable Saigon buildings – both old and new.

Solo exhibition ‘Khói sóng’ by Ha Manh Thang

“Khói Sóng” refers to smoke ‘khói’ on the waves ‘sóng’ in the ocean, lake or other body of water.

By dividing the canvases into three registers, Ha Manh Thang seems to draw a parallel with the sea, earth and sky.
