In his opening speech, Doan Huu Thien, Party Committee Secretary and Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Health, recalled the 80-year history of the Office. From its early days of establishment in 1945, amid numerous hardships, the Office had only about 10 staff members, yet shouldered a huge workload, ensuring administrative tasks, logistics, organising frontline medical networks, and serving major campaigns such as Dien Bien Phu.
Through the years of resistance, national reconstruction and development, the Office of the Ministry of Health has grown ever stronger, playing a central role in advisory, coordination, synthesis, logistics and effectively supporting the leadership and administration of the Ministry’s Leaders. Especially during the period of renovation and integration, the Office has taken the lead in administrative reform, application of information technology, digital transformation, modernisation of clerical and archival work, organisation of online conferences, enhancement of health communication, and close coordination with the press.

The Office staff of the Ministry of Health have worked quietly, with dedication and responsibility, making important contributions to the overall achievements of the entire sector. That 80-year tradition is the driving force for us to continue innovating, creating, and improving professionalism to meet the increasingly high requirements of the new period.
In his directive speech at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen praised the important contributions of the Ministry’s Office and the entire health sector office system, while also calling for continued innovation in working methods, further promotion of administrative reform, application of information technology, and the building of a professional, resilient team of staff to meet the requirements of digital transformation.
According to the Deputy Minister, the Office of the Ministry is not only the centre for advisory and coordination of the sector’s operations but also a core force in administrative reform, strengthening communication, renewing working methods and applying modern technology. At every stage of development in the health sector, the Office has always served as the ‘bridge’ connecting leadership directives with grassroots implementation, ensuring efficiency and transparency in management and administration.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of noble titles. Dr, Distinguished Physician Doan Huu Thien, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Health, was honoured to receive the Third-class Labour Order from the State President for his outstanding achievements during his service, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland. On behalf of the State President, Minister Dao Hong Lan solemnly presented this high distinction to Doan Huu Thien.
Also at the ceremony, on behalf of the leadership of the Government Office, Deputy Chief of the Government Office Do Ngoc Huynh presented the Commemorative Medal “For the cause of the Government Office” to Minister Lan and Standing Deputy Minister Tuyen.

The Minister of Health also awarded Certificates of Merit to 30 collectives and 27 outstanding individuals across the entire health sector office system. These were exemplary units and individuals in advisory, management and coordination work, with many initiatives and notable contributions in the emulation movement marking the 80th anniversary of the Office’s tradition.
