The two products bear the imprint of contemporary folk art, symbolising hopes for a new year of peace, smooth progress and breakthrough achievements.

The stamp set comprises two stamps and one souvenir sheet, designed by Nguyen Quang Vinh. It expresses confidence in a new journey marked by vitality, perseverance and success.

In Eastern culture, the horse symbolises strength, loyalty, patience and good fortune.

Drawing on this inspiration, the stamp set is rendered in a contemporary folk-art style and, for the first time, introduces the legendary image of the “Nine Red-Maned Horses” to Viet Nam’s Lunar New Year stamps.

The two stamps depict a pair of horses, a white horse and a chestnut horse, carrying festive drums to welcome spring.

The white horse, with its graceful posture and flowing mane, bears a set of smaller drums and represents the yin aspect; the chestnut horse, sturdy and powerful, carries a large drum, symbolising the yang aspect.

Together, the two images create a harmonious balance of yin and yang, representing equilibrium, concord and an auspicious beginning.

The horses bowing to one another also evoke humility and warmth, spreading the spirit of family reunion and affection in the early days of the new year.

The souvenir sheet expands the narrative with an image of eight horses galloping at full speed, with the central figure being the legendary Thousand-Mile Steed adorned with phoenix wings.

The image of one horse turning back to encourage its companions conveys a message of companionship and collective progress, underscoring that success is not merely a destination, but a journey defined by sharing and perseverance.

In addition to the Lunar New Year stamp set, the Viet Nam Post Corporation and the Viet Nam Stamps Company have also introduced a commemorative coin, depicting a sun horse soaring through the clouds, which symbolises new opportunities and the aspiration to reach broader horizons.

Issued in a limited quantity, the coin is aimed at a wide range of audiences, from collectors and those seeking meaningful Tet gifts to businesses and partners wishing to choose a lucky symbol to mark the start of the new year.
