At a press conference in Hanoi on October 30, Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports, outlined the main events of the 2024 Ninh Binh Festival.

These include the opening ceremony at Dinh Tien Hoang Square in Ninh Binh City at 8 pm on November 24; a poetry exhibition and reading at Nui Thuy Park from November 26-27; the “Ninh Binh - Sao Mai Reunion” art show at Pham Thi Tran Theatre on November 28; a street festival at Tam Quan Gate (Trang An Road) on November 29; and the closing ceremony at Thung Nham Ecotourism Area at 8 pm on November 30.

Programme Director Le Hai Yen shared that the opening ceremony, themed “The Flow of Heritage”, is inspired by the historical journeys of founding, moving, and establishing capitals by different dynasties, connecting the three capitals of Thang Long, Hoa Lu, and Hue. These locations, which are all recognised as UNESCO World Heritage sites, represent over a thousand years of Vietnamese history and have shaped unique and precious cultural, historical, and architectural heritages.

For the first time, the opening ceremony will combine modern technology with traditional art forms, blending music, dance, and cinema on a dynamic stage that reflects the shifts between capitals and dynasties.

In addition, the festival will feature other activities such as the 2024 National Music Festival, the 26th Red River Delta Art Photography Festival, the ITF U18 - J30 International Tennis Tournament, the Vietnam International Challenge 2024 Badminton Tournament, the Trang An Marathon 2024, and a trade exhibition promoting products, goods, and services.
