A highlight of Ha Long Carnaval 2026 was the expansion of the event space, creating a true “street festival” with a parade of dozens of symbolic art floats, domestic and international art troupes, as well as lion and dragon dance groups, festival drum troupes, models and beauty queens.
The brightly coloured floats, together with the participation of thousands of artists, performers and local people dancing energetically in the streets, created a festive atmosphere filled with colour and excitement.
Particularly impressive were the models performing alongside circus acts, the marine-creature float troupe recreating the ocean world, Samba dancers bringing an international flavour, along with performances by Then folk artisans, mine workers, street hip-hop dancers, dancesport performers and lively dances by artists from Japan, Laos and China, all of which created a vibrant picture of cultural exchange.
Alongside the colourful and energetic street dances was the largest-ever concert-scale art programme in Quang Ninh, recreating the province’s development journey through three chapters: “Symphony of Origins”, “Convergence of Quintessence” and “Reaching New Heights, Shining Bright”.
With the theme “Wonder Illuminates a New Era”, Ha Long Carnaval 2026 affirmed the goal of building Quang Ninh’s tourism brand as a convergence point of the heritage quintessence of Viet Nam and the world.
Held annually since 2007, Ha Long Carnaval has become a signature cultural and tourism event, and a distinctive and attractive tourism brand of Ha Long in particular and Quang Ninh in general.
In 2026, Quang Ninh aims to welcome 22 million visitors, including 5.2 million international arrivals, with total tourism revenue expected to reach around 65 trillion VND, further affirming tourism’s role as a spearhead economic sector that contributes positively to the province’s overall growth.
