Viet Nam Pavilion at EXPO 2025 draws nearly 25,000 visitors during Japan’s Golden Week

On the morning of May 7, the Viet Nam Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan, welcomed Governor of Nagano Prefecture Abe Shuichi during Golden Week — Japan’s longest holiday of the year.

This occasion also marked a significant milestone with the Viet Nam Pavilion attracting nearly 25,000 visitors in just seven days, from April 30 to May 6.

Abe praised the Viet Nam Pavilion, particularly its efforts to connect culture with tourism.

He also expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation between Nagano Prefecture and Viet Nam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cultural exchange and tourism development in the coming period.

During Japan’s Golden Week, the Viet Nam Pavilion ramped up cultural and artistic performances, most notably the daily water puppet shows, with four performances each day, alongside traditional music shows.

Many overseas Vietnamese and visitors from Viet Nam also came to explore and experience Vietnamese culture at EXPO. Notably, on May 5, singers Tung Duong, Isaac and Nguyen Duyen Quynh visited the pavilion and interacted with attendees, adding to the cultural appeal of the event.

In addition, the exhibition area showcasing OCOP products, handicrafts, and signature Vietnamese goods attracted significant attention from Japanese visitors.

A highlight was the interactive golf experience at the pavilion, offering a novel way to promote Viet Nam’s potential in golf tourism.

Many visitors expressed surprise at the depth of Vietnamese culture and the development of its industries, presented through creative and engaging displays.

Designed with a distinctive Vietnamese identity while maintaining a modern and interactive style, the Viet Nam Pavilion offers international friends an image of a dynamic, developing, and globally integrated Viet Nam.

Throughout May, many notable activities will continue at the Viet Nam Pavilion.

From May 23 to 25, the exhibition themed “Ho Chi Minh – Symbol of the Era” will be held to commemorate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth.

Then, from May 26 to June 1, “Viet Nam National Brand Week” will take place, showcasing certified national brand products and the achievements of Vietnamese enterprises in the process of integration and sustainable development.
