ANRPC reported that in 2013, Vietnam’s rubber output hit 1.043 million tonnes, up 20.8 percent from 2012.
For the first time, the country’s rubber production exceeded 1 million tonnes, jumping from the fifth to the third position on the global ranking.
China climbed from sixth to fourth place, with 856,000 tonnes.
Malaysia fell from third place to sixth after experiencing a drop of 11.1 percent in production, ending 2013 with a total of 820,000 tonnes.
India also suffered a similar decrease, falling to 849,000 tonnes but remaining in the fifth position.
