The audition round with a 24-second video challenge was launched today, with the results of the audition round and the semi-final lineup to be announced on September 22.
This year’s event entitled “Meet & Shine: Brightening the Future” will gather performers, researchers, and dance practitioners from 13 countries across the world.
The dance week will offer a chance for domestic and foreign dancers both professional and amateur to meet and exchange experiences through the festival and competitions in the three age categories of children (6-9 years old), teenagers (10-18 years old), adults ( over 18 years old), and elders (over 50 years old).
The event will include a folk dance competition of Vietnamese ethnic groups; competitions in all dance genres such as ballet, contemporary, street dance, jazz, pop, and folk; group performances with the participation of 13 countries; and a ‘Dance of Solidarity’ performance.
President of the Vietnam Dance Artists Association Pham Anh Phuong said that the association decided to hold the Vietnam Dance Week with diverse activities across the country to spread the art of dance in the community in a modern way so that people not only enjoy the art but can also participate in such activities.
The Dance Week in Hanoi will take place from October 26-29 while the Dance Week in Ho Chi Minh City will take place from Octorber 23-24.
