Vietnam, France enhance diplomatic relations

An inauguration ceremony for the Francophonie Library and an exchange programme themed “Vietnam – France diplomatic relations”, were held at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam on April 12, among the activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – France diplomatic ties.

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Van Quang said 2023 is an important year, marking the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Vietnam.

Up to now, the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and France has received greater attention in terms of politics, as well as strong cooperation in the fields of economy, education, science, technology and culture.

Over the past years, the relations between the two countries have developed gradually and gained many achievements, which showed the great potential in the bilateral relations, becoming an important driving force for the two countries’ development in the future.

At the exchange “Vietnam – France diplomatic relations”, French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery affirmed, that the relations between France and Vietnam will have many common features in the future because both countries have rich histories and cultures that need to be preserved.

Up to now, the cooperation between Vietnam and France has always shown dynamism, positivity and efficiency in many fields. The exchange of “Vietnam – France diplomatic relations” and the inauguration of the Francophone Library at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, are proof of such cooperation.

The Francophone Library project, which is funded by the French Embassy, is significant in supporting the study and research for Francophone lecturers and students of the Diplomatic Academy, thereby maintaining and strengthening the bond linkage between the two countries.
