The Korea Tourism Organisation in Vietnam (KTO Vietnam) held the annual Korea MICE Roadshow in the central city of Da Nang on August 7.

The event featured the participation of 21 units from local tourism promotion agencies, travel companies from the RoK, and more than 150 representatives in Vietnam, including government agencies, airlines, travel companies, and tour operators.

The 2024 Korea MICE Roadshow discussed attractive support policies from the KTO for the Vietnamese market and features special art performances by talented artists from the RoK, bringing Korean culture and tourism closer to Vietnam.

As part of the event, a B2B Meeting was held, providing a direct meeting and exchange platform between representatives of tourism and travel companies from Vietnam and the RoK, opening up many cooperation opportunities for both sides.

Tourism is not merely about visiting destinations. It also serves as a fundamental driving force and fuel to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all fields, by deepening mutual understanding, respect, and friendship between the people of the RoK and Vietnam. As of the end of June this year, with the demand of recovering travel demand during the post-COVID period, there were approximately 23 direct flights between Da Nang and the RoK operating daily, and over 780,000 citizens from the RoK visited Da Nang in the first half of 2024.

Vietnam has now emerged as the largest and most important market in Southeast Asia. If this growth continues, the tourism exchange between the two countries is expected to exceed 5 million visitors for the first time since the reopening of borders.

Vietnam is a key market for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourism and incentive travel. The number of Vietnamese incentive tourists supported by the KTO was approximately 41,000 in 2023, surpassing Thailand and China to take the top spot in Asia.

Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association (VTA) Vu The Binh highly appreciated the efforts made by KTO Vietnam in implementing tourism promotion activities for the RoK in Vietnam. The KTO is always ready to support Vietnamese tourism businesses in receiving tourists from the RoK and bringing Vietnamese tourists to the RoK.

The RoK also became the leading country in terms of tourist arrivals to Vietnam in 2023, and it is forecasted that the RoK will maintain its top position in 2024.
