Vietnam to compete in WorldSkills Competition

Vietnam will send 14 contestants to the 43rd WorldSkills Competition, scheduled to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil from August 5-17, according to the Directorate of Vocational Training.

Vietnamese candidates will compete in 13 skills, which include welding, , carpentry, plumbing, brick-laying, electro-mechanics, IT software solutions, web design, automobile technology, CNC (computer numerically controlled) machine operating, moulding, plastics moulding techniques and mechanical engineering design CAD..

The competition is held every two years with competitors from all over the world competing for medals in 50 skill categories.

Vietnam has sent contestants to the event five times but has yet to secure any medals. At the previous competition in Germany, the Vietnamese team was awarded with seven Medallions of Excellence.
