Vietnam wins four medals at International Olympiad in Informatics

Nhan Dan – As of July 26, all four members of the Vietnamese team have won medals at the 23rd International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in Pattaya, Thailand from July 22-29, according to the Department of Examinations and Education Quality Assessment.

Nguyen Vuong Linh, a 12th grade student from the Gifted High School under Hanoi National University won a gold medal while his teammate, Nguyen Tan Sy Nguyen, from the Gifted High School under Ho Chi Minh City National University, bagged a silver.

Two bronze medals went to 12th grade students Le Khac Minh Tue, from the Gifted High School under Hanoi National University, and Nguyen Hoang Yen, from the Gifted High School of Hanoi National University of Education.

These achievements are very significant compared to the single bronze medal won by the Vietnamese team at the 22nd IOI in Canada.

So far, among the five Vietnamese teams with a total of 23 outstanding students competing at International Olympiads in various subjects this year, only two have won gold medals.
