This year’s contest was held online with participants from more than 40 countries.
After completing a series of advanced problem-solving challenges, FPT University students achieved outstanding results across multiple categories.
In the individual category, Nguyen Thanh Danh, a K18 student majoring in Information Security, excelled in overcoming the competition’s challenges to secure first prize with his submission focused on theoretical cryptography and applied mathematics.
Tran Quang Quan, also a K18 Information Security student, won third prize, showcasing strong logical reasoning and an exceptional ability to solve complex problems with precision and creativity.
In the team category, which requires contestants to tackle specialised research problems combined with programming tasks, the K18 Information Security team comprising Tran Quang Quan, Vu Quang Huy, and Nguyen Thanh Danh continued to demonstrate their research capacity, analytical skills, and effective teamwork to win third prize overall.
The competition has been held annually since 2014 by leading universities and research institutes in Russia, Belarus, and Belgium, including Novosibirsk State University, the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Belarusian State University, Tomsk State University, and KU Leuven.
To date, NSUCRYPTO has attracted more than 3,000 contestants from 68 countries, becoming one of the world’s most prestigious intellectual arenas for young researchers in cryptography. It is also the only cryptography Olympiad globally featuring scientific problems targeted at experts and students from all nations.
The achievements of FPT University students at NSUCRYPTO 2025 reaffirm the institution’s training quality, particularly in technology fields. With internationally aligned curricula and a learning environment that emphasises critical thinking and in-depth research, FPT University students continue to strengthen their global competitiveness.
