Addressing the ceremony, Director of the Cinema Department and Head of the festival’s organising board Vi Kien Thanh said that this year’s festival attracted the largest number of entries and left deep impressions on participants and the audiences.

He hailed that many entries showed high artistic value and creativity in cinematic language, with many unique discoveries in how to tell a story.

Notably, many feature films have succeeded in exploring the natural landscape and kindness of Vietnamese people.

At the ceremony, the organising board presented 13 awards for excellent entries and 25 awards for outstanding individuals.

Accordingly, the movie ‘Tro Tan Ruc Ro’ (Glorious Ashes) by director Bui Thac Chuyen won the Golden Lotus Award for Best Feature Film.

The Silver Lotus awards in the feature film category went to three films, including “Me oi, Buom day!” (Mom, I’m here!), “Em va Trinh” (Trinh and I) and “Dao, Pho va Piano” (Peach Blossoms, Noodle Soup and Piano).

Golden and Silver Lotus Awards were delivered to the best entries in the other three categories of documentary, science film and cartoon.

Other individual awards were also presented at the ceremony to the best actors and actresses for video film, the best cameraman, the best musician, the best sound mixing and the best director of photography.
