Work commences on 100 million USD soju plant in Thai Binh

Korean liquor company Hitejinro held a ceremony on February 5 to initiate work on a soju manufacturing facility worth 100 million USD at the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park in Thai Binh Province.

According to Hitejinro CEO Kim In Kyu, on its 100th founding anniversary, the company made the landmark decision to establish a soju production line outside the Republic of Korea for the first time.

The decision marks the global expansion of soju, a traditional alcoholic beverage of Korea which has become a global phenomenon under Hitejinro’s brand Jinro.

Jinro is present in over 80 countries and has been the world’s best-selling spirit for 19 consecutive years.

The plant in Thai Binh is expected to come into operation in 2027, with an annual capacity of 70 million litres.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Thai Binh Chairman Nguyen Manh Hung highly appreciated Hitejinro’s decision to build a plant in the province, which affirms the province’s efforts to attract foreign investment.

The plant is expected to increase Thai Binh’s industrial production and export value, create jobs and enhance incomes for local residents, and drive the socio-economic development of the province.

Since its establishment four years ago, the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park has attracted at total of 1.5 billion USD from 30 investors, including six foreign companies.
