The first stage of the plant is scheduled for completion in July 2025, with an estimated capacity of 300,000 cars per year, which can be increased to 600,000 in the later stages.

Vinfast’s factory in Ha Tinh is expected to create jobs for nearly 6,000 people.

The Ha Tinh plant will mainly manufacture two EV models, VF3 and VF5, with chassis, engines and electronic parts imported from the plant in Hai Phong, while batteries will be partly sourced from a battery plant in the Vung Ang Economic Zone.

In the future, Vinfast and its partners will develop more plants to provide parts for the EV maker, thereby increasing its domestic content and drive the development of Vietnam’s supporting industries.

The plant in Ha Tinh is Vinfast’s fifth EV plant globally. In addition to the factory complex in Hai Phong, Vinfast is building a further three plants in India, Indonesia and the US, with those in India and Indonesia scheduled to be completed in 2025.

Speaking at the kick-off ceremony, Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha praised Vinfast’s pioneering role in Vietnam’s green and sustainable transport development strategy, helping the country reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet its net zero target.
