The initiative has been designed to provide a platform for dialogue, networking and collaboration between Vietnamese film professionals and partners from across the region and around the world.

Delivering the opening remarks, Dr Ngo Phuong Lan, Chairwoman of the Viet Nam Association for the Promotion and Development of Cinema and Director of the DANAFF, said the festival is a film festival committed not only to celebrating cinematic excellence but also to promoting cultural exchange.

She noted that the Da Nang Project Market, launched last year, was established to support emerging talents and new creative voices. Building on that success, the festival is pleased to introduce DANAFF Industry Days this year as another important milestone in the festival's continued development.

“We believe that the festival should not only be a place to showcase outstanding films, but also a space where ideas come together, partnerships are formed and new projects are born,” Dr Ngo Phuong Lan said.

She expressed hope that the programme would become a platform for dialogue, collaboration, co-production and international distribution. Reflecting the theme of DANAFF IV – “Bridging Asia to the World”, DANAFF Industry Days demonstrates the festival's commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and bringing Asian stories closer to audiences worldwide.

The programme brings together 10 Vietnamese film companies and 25 international film buyers, underscoring the growing international interest in Vietnamese cinema.

The participation of 25 international film buyers reflects the global market's increasing attention to Viet Nam's film industry. As Vietnamese films continue to achieve encouraging results in terms of box office performance, artistic quality and recognition at international film festivals, demand for collaboration with Vietnamese producers has grown significantly.

The presence of international partners is expected not only to create opportunities for copyright sales and overseas distribution but also to help Vietnamese projects gain access to investment resources, production expertise and international distribution networks.

The programme features presentations on recent developments and growth prospects of Viet Nam's film market, introductions to upcoming film projects from leading Vietnamese studios and production companies, as well as direct business-to-business (B2B) networking sessions between ten leading Vietnamese companies and more than twenty carefully selected international film buyers.

As part of DANAFF Industry Days, the festival is also hosting the DANAFF Industry Talks, a professional forum for producers, industry experts, policymakers and representatives of domestic and international film organisations.

The programme includes two public seminars focusing on key issues shaping today's film industry, including market trends in Viet Nam and Southeast Asia, models for co-production and distribution, and emerging opportunities for filmmakers amid increasingly deep international integration.
