Within the framework of the programme, with a total value of nearly VND 1 billion, a wide range of activities took place, including cultural and artistic exchanges; visits and Tet greetings; gift presentations to local Party committees and authorities, village elders, village heads, prestigious individuals, people involved in protecting border markers and boundary lines, policy-beneficiary families, people with meritorious service, women union members in particularly difficult circumstances; medical examinations and treatment for ethnic minority residents; scholarships for pupils; and the organisation of “zero-dong” stalls providing clothing and essential goods to households in need.
Tam Thanh Border Guard Station, in coordination with the local Youth Union branch, organised activities such as planting flowers and refurbishing the Martyrs’ Memorial; providing free medical check-ups and medicines for local residents; presenting 100 school bags to preschool children; and nearly 90 gift packages to policy-beneficiary families, people with meritorious service to the revolution, disadvantaged households, individuals involved in protecting border lines and markers, and pupils from difficult backgrounds who have shown determination in their studies and personal development.
In the border commune of Yen Khuong, Yen Khuong Border Guard Station coordinated with Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company, the Golden Lotus Volunteer Group and the commune Red Cross Society to organise activities including making banh chung, cultural exchanges, and presenting 200 gift packages worth a total of VND 100 million to war invalids, sick veterans, policy-beneficiary families, people with meritorious service to the revolution, poor households, individuals involved in protecting border lines and markers, and providing support to disadvantaged and disabled pupils pursuing their education.
Yen Khuong Border Guard Station also coordinated with Hac Thanh ward to present 20 bicycles to pupils under the programmes “Accompanying Children to School – Adopted Children of Border Guard Stations”, the project “Military Officers and Soldiers Accompany Children to School”, and the model “Supporting Disadvantaged and Disabled Pupils”. In addition, 70 gift packages worth a total of VND 35 million were presented to Party secretaries, village elders, village heads, prestigious individuals, households in particularly difficult circumstances, and those involved in protecting border markers.
In Son village, Na Meo commune, the Na Meo International Border Gate Border Guard Station coordinated with the Executive Board of the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha of Thanh Hoa province, Na Meo commune authorities and volunteer groups from Ha Noi to present 420 gift packages, including cash and in-kind support, each valued at VND 600,000, to residents in the border area.
On this occasion, the Na Meo International Border Gate Border Guard Station also met with, encouraged and presented 26 gift packages, with a total value of VND 26 million, to individuals and families involved in protecting border lines and markers, as well as prestigious figures in the locality.
