This activity is part of ActionAid International in Viet Nam’s commitment to providing emergency assistance as a member organisation of the Viet Nam Disaster Risk Reduction Partnership.

In this round of support, 330 poor and near-poor households, persons with disabilities, families with members suffering from serious illnesses, single women, and others severely impacted in Huong An Ward (formerly Huong So Ward) each received 3 million VND, with total support amounting to nearly 1 billion VND. Most of these households belong to the resettled floating community, who continue to face significant livelihood challenges, unstable incomes, and high vulnerability to natural disasters.

Alongside livelihood recovery, medical expenses and post-flood healthcare support, ActionAid and AFV also donated a 75-inch smart television to Huong So Primary School to help improve teaching quality amid infrastructure challenges following the storms and floods.

At the event, the organisers also conducted training on financial management for residents to help strengthen community resilience and sustainable post-disaster recovery.

Earlier, from November 18 to 20, ActionAid staff coordinated with local authorities and residential groups to conduct household-level damage assessments and gather feedback to ensure that assistance is delivered to the right people, aligned with actual needs, and in a transparent manner.
