Nhan Dan – Nearly 130 documentary photos depicting female General Nguyen Thi Dinh’s life and career are now on display at the Youth Cultural House in Ho Chi Minh City.

The prints, selected from 500 documentary photos of the general during the era of national construction and defence, were collected by photographer Vu Duc Thong and the family of General Nguyen Thi Dinh.

General Dinh was born on March 15, 1920 in the southern province of Ben Tre, and she began participating in revolutionary activities when she was 16 years old.

In the American War, she served as Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the National Liberation Front Armed Forces. She was appointed the first female general of the Vietnam People’s Army by President Ho Chi Minh.

The exhibition runs until October 27.
