The three-day event showcases a range of scientific works, including studies on medicinal plants and animals, as well as valuable book collections on Viet Nam’s medicinal resources.

Through the exhibition, the organisers aim to inspire greater interest, pride, and a sense of shared responsibility in conserving and developing Viet Nam’s medicinal materials for the benefit of the community.

At the same time, the exhibition serves as a commitment by those working in science and healthcare to safeguarding community health.

In her opening remarks, Trinh Ngoc Tram, vice chairwoman of Cua Nam Ward, said the exhibition was a meaningful activity that demonstrated the local authorities’ responsibility in conserving and promoting the value of Viet Nam’s traditional medicine.

For her part, Dr Tran Minh Ngoc, director of the National Institute of Medicinal Materials, noted that over the past 65 years, the institute has served as the country’s leading institution in research, conservation, and development of medicinal materials, making an important contribution to the cause of protecting and improving public health.

In recent years, the development of medicinal materials has consistently received close attention from the Party and the State.

Following the master plan for the development of Viet Nam’s medicinal materials to 2025, with a vision to 2030, numerous development programmes in the fields of medicinal materials and traditional medicine have been approved.

Dr Tran Minh Ngoc affirmed that, as the country places growing emphasis on comprehensive healthcare for the people, traditional medicine and Viet Nam’s medicinal materials are afforded new opportunities to further assert their role and value.

The National Institute of Medicinal Materials has clearly defined its responsibility to continue researching and applying advanced scientific achievements to conserve medicinal resources and develop safe and high-quality products for the community.
