On May 29, a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security led by Minister To Lam visited the Dak Lak provincial police force and presented certificates of merit to five individuals, who have contributed to protecting national security.

The five recipients include Tran Dinh Loc from Ea Ning commune, Cu Kuin district; Y Che Bdap from Ea Ktur commune, Cu Kuin district; Nguyen Phi Long from Ea Ning commune, Cu Kuin district, Nguyen Quoc Hung from Ea Ktur commune, Cu Kuin district and H'Lien Nie, head of Ea Liang village, Cu Pong commune, Krong Buk district.

They were honoured for chasing after those who carried out the armed attacks on the headquarters of two communal administrations in Cu Kuin district, on June 11 and helped the local police and authorities to seek fugitives.

On June 11, groups armed with guns and knives attacked the headquarters of the People’s Committees of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes, in Cu Kuin district, including the communal police stations, killing nine people, including two communal officials and four police officers, and injured two others.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam stressed that people play a crucial role in protecting social security and order.

He also reiterated that the Party and State always attach great importance to promoting the role of people and mobilising public participation in national construction and defence.
