The programme was organised by the Viet Nam Dairy Association (VDA) in collaboration with the Viet Nam Advertising and Exhibition JSC (VIETFAIR), with support from Tetra Pak Viet Nam.
During the event, children enjoyed a variety of musical performances and entertainment activities, as well as opportunities to sample dairy products, ice cream, milk tea, and other beverages from leading domestic and international brands.
In addition, children took part in interactive games on nutrition and environmental protection, a carton recycling initiative in which used beverage cartons could be exchanged for eco-friendly gifts, and a range of other educational activities.
In his opening remarks, VDA Chairman Tran Quang Trung emphasised that for children, milk is not only an important source of nutrition supporting physical growth, cognitive development, and overall wellbeing, but also lays the foundation for long-term health.
He noted that Viet Nam’s dairy industry is gradually shifting towards more sustainable production and consumption through investments in high-tech dairy farms, the use of renewable energy, resource conservation, reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, and the development of eco-friendly packaging.
“Developing a sustainable dairy industry is not simply about increasing output or expanding markets. It must also focus on building a responsible production, commercial, and consumption ecosystem in which food safety serves as the foundation, nutrition as the objective, environmental protection as the commitment, and consumer health as the centre of all efforts,” Trung said.
Nguyen Thanh Giang, General Director of Tetra Pak Viet Nam, said that carton collection and recycling programmes are helping to reduce waste, conserve resources, and promote the circular economy.
At the event, Vinod Ahuja, FAO Representative in Viet Nam, underscored the vital role of nutrition in the comprehensive development of children.
He said Viet Nam is undergoing significant economic and agricultural transformation, accompanied by growing public awareness of food, nutrition, and health. In this context, the dairy sector plays an important role in nutrition, rural livelihoods, and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
