The book fair takes place at the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street area, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City.
The opening ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on September 27.
The event is among the activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – 2024), and the 35th anniversary of UNESCO's designation of Hanoi as a "City for Peace."
The fair is expected to feature 200-250 booths by domestic and international publishers, diplomatic organisations in Hanoi, and representative offices of regional and international publishing associations.
The highlight of this year's Book Fair is the book exhibition with many good books about Hanoi, from history and culture to works written about the people and traditions of the capital.
This year, the Organising Committee also launched a book donation programme for schools in the suburbs of Hanoi, which have just been heavily affected by storm No. 3.
Initiated in 2014, the annual event aims to promote reading culture, encourage reading habits, and stimulate community reading movements to build a learning society.
At the fair, in an effort to contribute to attracting readers to books, improving reading culture, and attracting young readers, publishing units also introduced many new books, along with promotional programs, book discounts, and gifts for readers.
