The announcement was made by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Ho Chi Minh City during a conference on January 26.
Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Standing Vice President of the municipal VFF Committee, emphasised that this year’s programmes, organised by the VFF Committee and its member organisations, aim to expand in both quality and scope. The core objective remains upholding the city’s hallmark spirit of solidarity and ensuring that "no one is left behind" during the nation's most significant traditional festival.
The centrepiece is the "Spring of Solidarity – Tet of Compassion" festival, which will be held simultaneously across 168 residential areas, expected to attract over 200,000 participants.
Key activities include "Tet Corner" decorations, traditional dish making, flower festivals, and community "gratitude meals". Furthermore, the city plans to establish 10,000 "Tet Corners" to promote green, clean, and culturally rich public spaces.
Meanwhile, the city-level festival at Dam Sen Cultural Park will welcome 10,000 delegates and residents.A major focal point of the 2026 campaign is housing. The municipal VFF Committee will fund the "Spring Shelters" programme to build or repair 137 houses for disadvantaged households.
Various socio-political organisations are also launching specialised initiatives. The municipal Youth Union Committee will present gifts to border guards and organise "Tet Meals" for students and workers unable to return home during Tet.
The Women’s Union will provide free medical check-ups for residents in coastal areas, while the Labour Federation continues its tradition of providing transport assistance for migrant workers.
These concerted efforts reflect Ho Chi Minh City’s identity as a "compassionate, dynamic, and creative" city, helping foster social consensus as it enters 2026 with renewed determination.
