The festival will take place at the square of Binh Thuy district from April 28 to May 2, which will showcase 300 booths and see the participation of about 150 artisans from 22 provinces and cities, across the country.
The hot air balloon rising is scheduled to take place on April 30, according to the Director of the Can Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Minh Tuan.
This year’s festival entitled “Preserving and promoting the value of Southern folk cakes”, will only see the participation of domestic organisations. It aims to honour Vietnamese cuisine and Southern folk cakes, towards exporting Southern folk cakes, as well as promoting local tourism.
The event is expected to attract one million visitors to experience activities and enjoy cakes, an increase of 200,000 compared to the ninth festival held in 2022.
