In pictures: Aerial views of nationwide walking campaign organised by Nhan Dan

A national walking programme, jointly held by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security to mark the 80th anniversary of National Day, was launched on the morning of August 16.

The launch ceremony took place at Ly Thai To Park in central Ha Noi, attended by Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh and Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To.

In the early morning, thousands of residents, officials, and members of the armed forces were present at Ly Thai To Park, ready to join the walk.

Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh said that the walking campaign is a highly meaningful community event, taking place as the country enters a new development phase.

The walking event was held concurrently in all 34 provinces and cities, drawing hundreds of thousands of participants wearing red shirts with yellow stars.

In Hue, about 7,000 residents took part in the campaign.

At around 5 am, participants gathered at the Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion at the foot of the Hue Flag Tower for the occasion.

Employees of Samsung Viet Nam’s two manufacturing facilities in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen wore red shirts with yellow stars, sang the national anthem, and joined the walk for a united, strong, and sustainable Viet Nam.
