To day flowers, also known as the forest peach blossom and a symbol of spring, have begun to bloom across the highland villages of Mu Cang Chai.

With the pure and unspoilt beauty of To day flowers, over the past two years Mu Cang Chai District — now Mu Cang Chai Commune, Lao Cai Province — has organised a wild peach blossom festival. The event is not only a tourism attraction but also an occasion to honour natural beauty alongside traditional culture.

In 2026, the festival will take place on January 3, coinciding with the peak and most beautiful blooming season, promising visitors an immersive experience and lasting impressions.

Le Xuan Duong, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Division of Mu Cang Chai Commune, said that the local authorities have drawn up plans to organise the H’Mong Khen Festival, the To day Flower Festival, and a series of Spring 2026 celebrations featuring a wide range of rich and distinctive activities.

These events aim to promote and spread traditional cultural values, strengthen linkages, and foster sustainable tourism development, while contributing to the preservation and promotion of the cultural identity of the local H’Mong ethnic community.

These activities are expected not only to create highlights for visitors but also to open up opportunities for local economic development and the preservation of cultural identity.
