Memorial site for Uncle Ho’s father inaugurated in Binh Dinh

A ceremony was held in Thuong Giang village, Tay Giang commune, Tay Son district, the central province of Binh Dinh on May 23 to inaugurate the memorial site for President Ho Chi Minh’s beloved father, Nguyen Sinh Sac.

The site was constructed in remembrance of of Nguyen Sinh Sac who was appointed as the district’s chief in 1909.

He helped the local people fight against oppression and exploitation of officials.

The construction of the memorial site started on August 6 2014 ata total cost of nearly VND73 billion.

Located on an area of more than 2.6 hectares, the site consists of 26 items including a temple, a monument, a gallery, a well and a lotus lake.

The gallery features a wide variety of documents and photos that were divided into two parts including the life and career of Nguyen Sinh Sac and President Ho Chi Minh with Binh Dinh province.

Nguyen Sinh Sac passed away in November 1929 and was laid to rest in Cao Lanh city, the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap.
