The first activity of the Medical Innovation Network is the programme entitled “Digital transformation for lung health,” which is aimed at strengthening digital health capacity for more than 3,000 medical workers while introducing digital transformation applications for hospitals, including diagnostic tools with AI support.
The two-day programme will provide free medical examinations and medicines for 3,000 local people who will participate in screening for lung diseases and underlying diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Dr. Ha Anh Duc, President of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, said: “Today, lung cancer and other lung diseases are becoming one of the leading causes of death worldwide. However, if detected early, the possibility for successful treatment is very high. This is why this screening programme is not only important but also urgent.”
The programme is also expected to enhance the digital health capacity and AI capacity of medical workers and apply digital and technology solutions to screening lung cancer and other underlying diseases for 50,000 people in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023.
The programme will also be expanded to other cities, including Hanoi, Da Nang, Can Tho and Hue, with the participation of 60 hospitals to provide lung disease screening for about 100,000 people.
