National Cheo Festival 2025 successfully concludes

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee to organise the closing ceremony, summarise and award the National Cheo (traditional opera) Festival – 2025 at the Bac Ninh Provincial Culture-Exhibition Centre on November 2.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the National Cheo Festival awarded Gold Medals to two plays from the Army Cheo Theatre and the Bac Ninh Cheo Theatre; presented Silver Medals to 65 artists and actors and Gold Medals to 33 individuals with outstanding achievements.

The organising committee also awarded outstanding awards to male and female actors, along with outstanding awards for creative components including: literary authors, adaptation authors, directors, art designers, choreographers and art directors.

Held in Bac Ninh, the National Cheo Festival - 2025 gathered nearly 900 artists, actors and musicians from 12 professional Cheo art troupes across the country.

During the 14 days of the festival, the art troupes brought to the public and Cheo art lovers 21 unique and impressive plays. Each play lasted about 120 minutes, exploiting the historical and cultural themes of the homeland, harmoniously combining traditional features and contemporary life.
