This MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourist group with their high influence, high-income, and good spending ability from Chinese provinces, attended a conference in Dongxing City (China) before travelling to Quang Ninh for a five-day, four-night stay at luxury hotels.
“Mong Cai Ward 1 is at the heart of the Tra Co National Tourism Area. We have always identified tourism as one of the locality’s key economic sectors. To improve service quality and attract visitors, the local authorities are working to enhance the quality of tourism services, strengthen state management, and build a healthy, high-quality tourism environment. We are also encouraging businesses and people to comply with regulations and work together to develop Mong Cai Ward 1 into a tourism hub for the eastern area of Quang Ninh Province,” shared Do Van Tuan, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Mong Cai Ward 1.
MICE tourism is a distinctive form of travel that combines tourism with events, conferences, and awarding activities, generating significant revenue and wide-ranging impact. It brings major economic benefits thanks to a large number of visitors whose spending power is considerably higher than that of regular tourists. In recent years, Quang Ninh has seen an increasing number of MICE tour groups organised by domestic and international travel agencies, opening new prospects for the tourism development.
“MICE tourism has been developing strongly in recent years. Our company has long focused on this market and implemented a series of solutions such as marketing and service quality improvement to prove to our partners that we can compete with other markets. Today, welcoming a group of nearly 1,000 visitors to Quang Ninh is the result of those efforts,” said Nguyen Ha Hai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of THK Tourism and Trade Services Joint Stock Company.
“Quang Ninh is very famous, especially Ha Long Bay – a world natural heritage site. Viet Nam and China are good neighbours, and travel between our countries is very convenient. Moreover, I’ve seen how rapidly Viet Nam’s economy has developed in recent years, and I wanted to visit to learn and exchange experiences,” Tan Jiang, a tourist from Shandong, China, shared his excitement.
The arrival of nearly 1,000 international tourists through the Mong Cai International Border Gate marks a positive start for tourism in Mong Cai Ward 1 in particular and Quang Ninh Province in general to continue making breakthroughs under the new two-tier local governance model.
