The 85 honoured works represent outstanding creative achievements of the year, crystallising a vibrant and deeply evolving spiritual life within the nationwide community of writers and artists. They bring together aesthetic sensibilities, historical reflection, regional cultural identities, and the aspirations of contemporary Vietnamese people, collectively shaping a rich creative space for today’s social and spiritual life.
In recent years, the Literary and Artistic Awards of the Viet Nam Union of Literary and Artistic Associations have demonstrated their increasingly expanding scale, attracting wide participation from artists and writers, while also becoming a value system with far-reaching influence across many aspects of social life.
In 2025, the organising committee received entries from literary and artistic associations in all 34 provinces and centrally governed cities, with a total of 441 works across a wide range of fields, including literature, music, fine arts, cinema, photography, dance, theatre, and folk arts.
Following a rigorous evaluation process, the specialised award councils selected 75 outstanding works from local associations to receive six A prizes, 17 B prizes, 18 C prizes, 33 consolation prizes, and one Young Author prize, in addition to the 10 outstanding works from the central specialised associations.
Commenting on this year’s awards, People’s Artist Vuong Duy Bien, Standing Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Literary and Artistic Associations, noted that award councils at the grassroots level had carried out careful screening and thorough assessment from the outset, significantly enhancing the quality of works submitted for consideration at the Union level.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr Do Hong Quan, composer and President of the Viet Nam Union of Literary and Artistic Associations, stressed that honouring the creative works of writers and artists had provided timely recognition of exemplary works and authors, while also helping to widely disseminate artistic values that vividly reflect the creative life and the sustained, dedicated efforts of Viet Nam’s artistic community.
He expressed his hope that in 2026 the awards will continue to receive full, responsible, and enthusiastic participation from the 10 central specialised literary and artistic associations, as well as provincial and municipal associations nationwide, thereby further affirming the role of literature and the arts as a spiritual pillar of society.
