Presenting 500 million VND to the Central Relief Mobilisation Committee under the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation, member of the Presidium of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and Chairman of the Viet Nam Journalists’ Association, expressed his wish to share and accompany people affected by natural disasters in difficult times.
"This is the first step in a series of support activities of Nhan Dan Newspaper for flood relief work. We will continue to implement many fundraising programmes to support people in natural disaster-hit areas," he said.
Notably, on October 17, Nhan Dan Newspaper will release the film "Fatherland in Our Hearts". Following which, on October 18 and 19, the newspaper will continue by organising the "Good Morning Viet Nam" programme. All ticket sales revenue after paying operating costs will be transferred to the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee to serve the work of supporting people affected by storms and floods.
At the same time, as a press agency with correspondents stationed in many provinces and cities, Nhan Dan Newspaper reporters always strive for truthful and timely reflection of the scene and people’s wishes in localities affected by storms and floods.
On behalf of the Presidium of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Do Van Chien expressed his deep gratitude to the cadres, reporters, editors, and employees of Nhan Dan Newspaper for their unanimity and joint efforts to provide timely and practical support to help storm and flood victims have more resources to overcome the consequences of the natural disasters.
He said that, since September, provinces and cities have been severely affected by the situation of "storm upon storm, flood upon flood". Many families have lost their houses, property, crops, and livestock. The loss of human lives and property is enormous.

In that situation, the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary To Lam, have closely directed the relevant agencies to promptly and resolutely implement measures to ensure social security and care for people's lives.
The President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee shared that the goodwill, whether material or spiritual, whether small or large, is a valuable source of strength to help households overcome the current difficulties and soon stabilise their lives. This is a testament to the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and affection, the profound humane tradition of the Vietnamese people that has existed for many generations.
