The three-day event includes the costume procession of Goddess Po Ina Nagar, who taught the Cham people to grow rice, weave cloth, and raise livestock, helping them thrive.
The festival also features the opening of tower gates, genie statue bathing, and art performances by Cham men and women in traditional costumes.
On the occasion, the leaders of Ninh Thuan province presented gifts to the Cham people, calling them to make further efforts to preserve and promote their cultural activities while contributing to the provincial socio-economic development.
Kate is the biggest festival in the year of the Cham Brahman people to honour their ancestors and pray for bumper harvests and prosperity.
In 2017, the Kate Festival of the Cham people in Ninh Thuan Province was recognised as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
