Outstanding works of Youth Photography Festival honoured

The 2025 Youth Photography Festival opened at took place at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam – The Temple of Literature – a Special National Relic Site in Ha Noi on August 18.

The Youth Photography Festival is held every two years for authors aged 18-35.

The year 2025 marks the 6th time the event has been held, directed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions in coordination with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports. This is a meaningful event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

Speaking at the opening of the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong emphasised that in the genre of realism, the works displayed and awarded have truly and vividly reflected the beauty of Vietnamese people, culture and landscapes.

Through the lens of photography, the authors have captured moments of real life, full of creative energy, from new vitality in the countryside and urban areas, to the process of innovation and modernisation of the country.

The Art Council have selected 124 works (realistic photography: 110 works, conceptual photography: 24 works) by 73 authors to display. Of which, 17 of the best works were awarded prizes.

As a result, the 2 works that won the Gold Medal were the photo series “Brightening Green Aspiration” by author Tran Minh Luong (Can Tho) and the photo series “Behind the Score” by author Phan Minh Tho (Gia Lai).
