Over 200 official delegates to attend 6th global forum for young Vietnamese intellectuals

The 6th global forum of young Vietnamese intellectuals will take place on July 19-21, welcoming 201 official delegates and over 300 observers.

Among the official delegates are one professor, 31 associate/assistant professors, 150 PhDs, and 19 master’s or PhD candidates.

The information was announced at a press conference held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee and the VYF Central Committee, in coordination with relevant units in Ha Noi on July 14.

According to Nguyen Kim Quy, Permanent Vice Chairman of the VYF Central Committee, under the theme ‘Global young Vietnamese intellectuals supporting the nation’s advancement into a new era', the forum aims to connect and promote the role of young intellectuals inside and outside Viet Nam; propose breakthrough initiatives and solutions for national development; and advance the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on developing science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Among the 201 official delegates attending the forum, over 90% have been trained abroad, and 62 delegates are currently working in 20 countries and territories around the world.

This year’s delegates were selected from key fields: science and technology; economics and management; healthcare; environment and sustainable development; and education and social sciences.

Notably, many delegates are experts in fields such as nuclear physics, rocket engines, AI algorithms, green economy, banking and finance, biomedical technology, and linguistics.

The delegates will discuss several core topics, including: applying AI and new technologies to enhance labour productivity; innovative startups linked to the green economy and sustainable development; sustainable adaptation to global transformative challenges; and developing cultural and educational foundations in the new era.

As part of the forum, delegates will visit the Vinfast plant in Hai Phong City, the Green SM company, and attend discussions on data security. The forum’s parallel workshops will be organised in groups of delegates, held simultaneously in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee and President of the VYF Central Committee, noted that over five previous editions, the forum has attracted more than 1,000 young intellectuals inside and outside the country to contribute to programmes and policies related to developing Viet Nam’s young talent.

This year’s forum continues in its role as a vital platform for young Vietnamese intellectuals worldwide to exchange views on vision, mission, roles, and contributions of the Vietnamese young intellectual community in national development and in promoting Viet Nam’s deeper economic integration into the region and the world.
