After being held annually for many years, the international children's painting contest has become an outstanding cultural and artistic activity, positively contributing to spreading the spirit of love for Ha Noi, the aspiration for peace, and national pride among young people.
This year, the contest received over 38,000 entries from 345 units, schools, and art clubs across Ha Noi, and more than 200 works of children from embassies, foreign organisations, and international schools. The large number of entries, carrying messages of peace, cooperation, and affection for Ha Noi, vividly demonstrates the capital’s appeal as a City for Peace.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports and Head of the Organising Committee of the contest, said that this year’s contest is one of the meaningful cultural activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945–August 19, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945–September 2, 2025), and the 26th anniversary of Ha Noi being honoured by UNESCO as a “City for Peace” (1999–2025). The active participation of children reflects the widespread attention of schools, art clubs, parents, and society as a whole towards educating the young generation through art, while affirming the contest’s appeal and influence, he added.
He affirmed that the coordination with the Ha Noi Union of Friendship Organisations in organising the contest ensured its prestige and scale while further promoting the spirit of international solidarity and cooperation.
Evaluating the quality of the entries, Meritorious Artist and painter Nguyen Van Truc, Head of the Creative Board of the Ha Noi Stage Artists’ Association, said that this year’s contest is not only a helpful artistic playground but also contributes to nurturing love for the homeland, fostering aesthetics, and inspiring the aspiration to build a civilised, prosperous, and compassionate capital. The entries have conveyed the message of peace, reflecting the purity of childhood and the belief in a bright future.
