Besides promoting transport infrastructure advantages, innovating products and increasing destination attractiveness, Quang Ninh focuses on linking and expanding development cooperation. In particular, the province has built inter-regional product packages, maximizing the potential of diverse tourism and available synchronous transport infrastructure.
From November 16-19, Quang Ninh Province successfully organised the Hokkaido Festival and activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan in Quang Ninh. Within the framework of the event, boosting cooperation in tourism development is one of the important contents discussed and deeply exchanged by the two localities.
The two localities continue to promote cooperation and the promotion of destinations through media such as television, websites and fanpages. At the same time, the province will increase group exchange activities, especially famtrip groups and travel groups. Quang Ninh will also organise roadshows to promote tourism, especially researching and developing flight routes through Van Don International Airport and Chitose Airport.
Within the framework of the Hokkaido Festival in Ha Long, Koganezawa Kenji, Chairman of the Hokkaido Tourism Promotion Organization, emphasised that Quang Ninh and Hokkaido have many similar tourism conditions and development opportunities.
According to Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, linkage is an objective requirement in tourism development. Linking helps to expand space, promote the strengths of localities, form diverse and attractive tourism products, enhance competitive advantages, mobilize resources, create advertising power, promote destinations and attract investment while promoting the spread of inter-local and inter-regional socio-economic development.
Sticking to that orientation, in recent times, Quang Ninh Province has linked and expanded tourism development cooperation with provinces and cities, such as Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh and Vinh Phuc, and southern localities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
Regarding the international market in 2023, the province aims to welcome two million visitors. Besides traditional markets, such as Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and Europe, Quang Ninh Province pays attention and prepares conditions to exploit and welcome Indian and Muslim tourists. Many Indian fam trip groups have come to Quang Ninh to survey the infrastructure and tourism services and make positive comments about bringing tourists here.
In addition, the Tourism industry also actively implements a variety of foreign affairs and international cooperation activities to promote tourism development, such as Cooperation between Quang Ninh Province and the three northern Lao provinces, organising online tourism conferences between Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam and Guangxi Province (China) and working with partners to implement cooperative activities within the framework of the East Asia Interregional Tourism Alliance (EATOF).
In the coming time, the Quang Ninh Tourism industry will continue to proactively connect tourist destinations and areas, build a network of links between transportation, accommodation and restaurant service providers to reduce costs and build promotional programmes offering products to attract customers during the spring and summer.
Quang Ninh will expand space and develop new tourism products for island areas and localities, experimentally developing night tourism products and street tourism while serving as a focal point connecting localities. At the same time, the province will organise and implement promotional programmes in localities throughout the country, as well as international markets such as Southeast Asia, the Republic of Korea and Japan, to promote sustainable tourism development.
