The annual event is being co-organised by Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper, the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusions, and the Youth Unions in several cities and provinces.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper and Head of the Organising Committee for the 18th Red Sunday Campaign in 2026, stated: Besides its media mission, Tien Phong Newspaper has consistently built and maintained many activities imbued with the spirit of community service – from sports, cultural, and educational events to social welfare programmes.

For the past 17 years, “Red Sunday” has become a widespread movement, connecting millions of benevolent hearts across the country, contributing hundreds of thousands of valuable blood units to the healthcare sector. The most valuable thing is the spirit of sharing that has deeply permeated the community, especially the younger generation – those who are willing to give without expecting anything in return.

Entering its 18th edition, “Red Sunday” not only continues an established journey but also carries the aspiration to deepen societal awareness of voluntary blood donation, emphasising that donating blood is not a temporary act but a civic responsibility, a concrete expression of love for humanity, he noted.

The Head of the Organising Committee believed that the 18th “Red Sunday” in 2026 will continue to ignite hope, give life to thousands of patients, and sow the seeds of compassion in society.
