Quang Tri student receives scholarships to 12 US universities

Truong Khanh Hung, an 18-year-old student from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted in Quang Tri province, has won full scholarships to 12 universities in the US.

Among the offers, which included those from DePauw, Denison, Cincinnati, Valparaiso, and Binghamton universities, Hung decided to enrol in computer science at South Florida University and will leave for the US on August 15.

Explaining the reason why he wanted to study computer science, Hung said that computer science is considered a foundational science that contributes to almost all areas of life, including designing, manufacturing, operating, and repairing hardware and software, thus facilitating the development of society. He also asserted that he will return to Vietnam to work after graduation.

Truong Khanh Hung is an outstanding student at his school. He got 9.2 points out of 10 on his average final score in 12th grade. He also scored band 7 on the IELTS test and actively participated in scientific research, and social and charity activities.

Director of Quang Tri provincial Department of Education and Training, Dr. Le Thi Huong, said that Truong Khanh Hung has inspired many Quang Tri students thanks to his excellent study results and participation in volunteer activities.
