In his speech, the top legislator highly valued the endeavours and outstanding achievements of the SAV in recent times.

Audit activities have contributed to saving thousands of billions of Vietnamese dong for the State budget, preventing and addressing numerous wrongdoings, and effectively supporting investigation, inspection, and examination efforts of relevant agencies to strengthen financial discipline, and prevent corruption, wastefulness, and other negative phenomena, he said.

The SAV has always closely followed the NA’s activities and the country's socio-economic administration and management and helped the NA have reliable sources of information and data to approve state budget settlement and decide on state budget estimates and annual central budget allocations, he noted.

The leader also praised initiatives by the SAV in expanding international cooperation to elevate its position in the international arena.

He suggested the SAV correctly implement the Party's policies and strategic directions; the National Assembly's resolutions on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and diplomatic work; and the Government's directives on state budget management, fiscal and monetary policies.

Attention should be paid to selecting and prioritising the key objectives of the development strategy for the SAV until 2030, the leader stressed.

He requested the audit sector to continue strengthening and perfecting the legal framework to make the SAV’s operations increasingly effective and efficient, and underlined the need to enhance the coordination between the SAV and relevant agencies of the NA in the management and supervision of public finances and assets, as well as in the prevention and combat of corruption and other negative phenomena. The top legislator asked for more efforts from the agency to continuously strengthen its position and reputation within the Vietnamese state system and among international audit bodies.
