Following the success of previous programmes including the “New Year Concert”, “Autumn Concert”, and “Winter Concert”, this July, Ha Noi Radio and Television continues to bring the audience of the capital into a vibrant, fresh musical space reflecting the lively and energetic spirit of summer. The concert will showcase familiar works, reinterpreted through a new and modern symphonic style.

As the final part of the Ha Noi Concert series themed around the four seasons, “Summer Concert 2025” marks a full connection between emotion and chamber music artistry. It will be broadcast live on channels H1 and H2 (UHD standard), FM96 radio, the HANOI ON app, the website hanoionline.vn, and the social media platforms of Ha Noi Radio and Television.

Carrying the message “New Energy for a New Era”, the programme aims not only to introduce a youthful and modern approach to chamber music in Viet Nam, but also to reflect the spirit of integration as the country advances into a new stage of development.

It is also a testament to the major policy direction of the Party and State in developing culture: internationalising Vietnamese identity, localising the quintessence of humanity; placing people at the centre of both creating and enjoying art; and building a rich spiritual life that is both integrated and deeply imbued with national identity.

The fusion of East and West, between folk and classical, between the familiar and the novel, in previous Ha Noi Concert programmes, has created a uniquely impressive and captivating identity for “Summer Concert 2025.”

Viet Nam National Symphony Orchestra, a long-time partner in the Ha Noi Concert series, will perform under the direction of conductor Honna Tetsuji, who has served as conductor and Music Director of the VNSO since 2009.

“Summer Concert 2025” will feature songs whose melodies and sounds audiences are used to hearing performed by smaller musical groups with background music or electronic beats. However, when presented by a full symphony orchestra, the effect will be far greater. Each of the sixty or one hundred musicians becomes a powerful source of energy, creating an unparalleled experience for the audience.

With this programme, Ha Noi Concert by Ha Noi Radio and Television aims to expand the community of classical music lovers by refreshing familiar works, blending Vietnamese pop music with Western classical music. The goal is to foster a habit of appreciating classical art among the public, especially the younger generation.

In doing so, it contributes to making chamber music a lively part of modern life, ensuring that symphonic music is not confined only to luxurious spaces, but also resonates and connects with audiences of all backgrounds, building a vibrant, integrated cultural community.

In recent years, Ha Noi Radio and Television has been at the forefront of innovating performing arts, proactively organising high-quality, large-scale music programmes, leveraging technology, television, and digital platforms to enhance the experience of classical music for audiences of all ages, particularly through the Ha Noi Concert series. This is one of the practical actions in implementing the Resolution on the development of the Capital’s cultural industries for the 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2045, aiming to make culture a spearhead economic sector and build Ha Noi into a “creative city” by 2045.
