The opening ceremony of the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival took place at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, on December 5 with the attendance of Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh. Over 15,000 locals and visitors joined the event.

First held in 2004, the Da Lat Flower Festival has become an annual highlight, showcasing the city’s vibrant blooms during its most picturesque season. This year’s festival spans the entire Lam Dong Province and runs until December 31, featuring diverse cultural and artistic events aimed at celebrating Da Lat’s floral industry and rich cultural heritage.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tran Hong Thai, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, highlighted the festival’s theme, emphasising its unique international flair as well as its role in honouring Da Lat’s floral industry and the unity of its 47 ethnic groups.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh praised the festival as a cultural-tourism event of national and global significance, encouraging Lam Dong to continue promoting green growth, sustainable development, and cultural preservation.

The festival features three main artistic segments: “Symphony of Earth and Sky”, “Endless Da Lat Experiences”, and “Brilliant Harmony”. These performances blend local cultural traditions, music, and contemporary art to spotlight the theme “Da lat Flowers — Symphony of Colours”.

With more than 10 main programmes, 12 supporting events, and activities spread throughout the year, the festival continues to position Da Lat as a destination for art, nature, and cultural exploration.

The 10th Da Lat Flower Festival will run until December 31, 2024.
